PLANNING AUTHORITY: BEXLEY COUNCIL
The Lead Designer worked with our client Sam Wykes to create a new double storey end of terrace dwelling. The design included an airy and spacious new build with the intention to accommodate a young family. The ground floor includes a spacious open plan Kitchen/Diner to the rear opening out through bi-fold doors onto a narrow but long garden. We also created a new Living Room to the front with traditional bay window matching the adjoining terrace house. A new usable loft area was added creating a new Bedroom and Dressing Room. The new first floor Bedroom comprised of French doors and Juliet balcony overlooking the spacious garden bringing lots of natural light into the Master Bedroom. The large back doors and windows allow lots of natural light which is important in this quite narrow dwelling. The first floor includes two bedrooms and two bathrooms (one of which is an ensuite). Our main challenge with the design was getting all the client required facilities to fit in a very narrow plot which meant we had to spread the rooms long ways over 3 floors.
